Season 1, Episode 6 – “The Streets Don’t Forget”
Opening Scene – The Late Night Call
Derrick is pacing the living room, phone to his ear, whispering furiously.
Derrick:
“Nah, Terrance ain’t loyal no more. I can feel it in my gut. If he moves on me, I’ma move first.”
Antoinette listens from upstairs, her kids huddled behind her. Every word sounds like a death sentence.
Voiceover (Antoinette):
“His fear got him dialing the same streets he swore he left behind. But the streets don’t forgive. And they don’t forget.”
Scene 2 – The Meeting
Derrick drives to a dimly lit parking lot in Queens. He waits in the car, hand on his pistol.
A car pulls up. Two men step out — not Terrance, but younger soldiers from the old block. They carry themselves with menace.
Street Soldier:
“Word is you out here talkin’ slick, Derrick. You forgetting who kept you alive back then?”
Derrick steps out, chest puffed, but his voice cracks with desperation.
Derrick:
“I paid my dues. I ain’t owe nobody.”
The soldiers laugh.
Street Soldier #2:
“Everybody owes somebody. You just forgot the rules.”
Scene 3 – Violence Breaks Loose
Tension snaps. Derrick pulls his gun, firing wild into the night. The soldiers scatter, shooting back. Bullets ricochet off cars, glass shatters, alarms blare.
Derrick barely escapes, speeding off with blood on his arm from a graze. His breathing is heavy, manic.
Derrick (yelling to himself):
“Come for me then! I’ll take you all down!”
Scene 4 – Back at Home
He storms inside, bleeding, gun still in his hand. Antoinette and the kids freeze.
Antoinette (furious but calm):
“Are you out of your mind? You brought that war back here!”
Derrick (snapping, paranoid):
“They won’t touch me! I’m 100 steps ahead!”
17-Year-Old Son (spitting back):
“No, you’re 100 steps behind. And you’re dragging us with you!”
Scene 5 – Antoinette’s Quiet Plan
Later, Derrick passes out drunk on the couch, gun on the table beside him.
Antoinette gathers her kids in her bedroom, speaking softly but sharp.
Antoinette:
“We can’t save him. He don’t want saving. But we can save ourselves. From here on out, we move smart. Quiet. Every step we take… is out.”
The kids nod, scared but trusting her completely.
Closing Scene – The Writing
Antoinette sits at her desk again, writing furiously in her notebook.
Voiceover (Antoinette):
“He thinks paranoia makes him powerful. But paranoia is just fear with a trigger finger. And when fear runs the house… it only ends in fire.”
She closes the notebook. The camera lingers on the title: Obsessed Abuse.
